Gilmore, clerk to j the board, left this morning for Kaitaia, where they will continue their sittings. They will then return to j Auckland, where they will sit for a i fortnight before going south.

The Whangarei District Hospital at present is quite a rendezvous for wellknown identities of the district. Among the patients are Messrs Roland Hill, of Tangihna, and Arthur Wright, of Main’s Avenue, both of whom have been under treatment for some time. His many friends will be delighted to learn that Mr F. J. Mullins, of Tikipunga, has been discharged from the institution and after an illness of five weeks has now* entered upon the period of convalescence proper.
