New seasonfs English gooseberries are now on the market. Pines are fairly plentiful, and oranges, lemons and mandarines arc in good supply. Quotations are as follows: — Fresh hen and duck eggs, lid per dozen. Bacon, in cuts, Old to IGd per lb; rashers, Od to 1/; whole hams, lid per lb; rashers, 1/. First grade factory butter 1/3 per lb. cash across the counter, Id extra when booked. Second grade, 1/2 per Ibi Farmers’ butter, 1/ per lb. Cheese, mild, full cream, lOd to 1/ per lb; medium matured, 1/2 to 1/3 per lb.
Apples; Delicious, Stunner, Winesap, and Granny Smith, -id per lb; cookers, 3d to 4d per lb. Pears: Winter Xelis, 4d per lb; Winter Cole, 4d per lb. Oranges: Island, 1/6 per dozen; large 2/; Australian navel, 2/ per dozen; marmalade, lid to 1/ per dozen; Queensland, Fi.ii pines: Od to 1/ each. Tomatoes: lid to Sd per lb. V.
