Mr P. .1. Mcllvride, signal and electrif' linos inspector, when finishing duty today, retires on ?>5 years’ service. Mr Mcllvride came to Whangarei. from Wellington IS months ago. He intends to settle here, having purchased a small farm at Onevahi.
Nurse V, Beznak, of Matata, has been appointed district nurse for the districts of Kaikohe, Ohaeawai, Wal-mA-te North and Okaihau, with headquarters at Kaikohe. Nurse Beznak is English trained and has had considerable experience as a district, nurse in New Zealand, occupying until recently a similar position with the Whakatane Hospital Board.
