Further dismissals of casual employees in the Post ami Telegraph Department occurred on Thursday, when about 00 men received immedi- j ate notice. Of this number 20 were . engaged in the city -area. I Within the last six months 200 j casual employees have been dischaig od in the Auckland district, and there is now no temporary man employed in this section. A fair number of the men diseharg- j ed had been in the employ of the department for many years. The bringing into force of economies and restriction of outdoor operations arc stated to be the reasons for the dismissal.
