COOK STRAIT CABLES
, IRTR UNDERTAKES REPAIRS. (Per Press Association. —Copyright.) WELLINGTON, Monday. The cable steamer iris, which left Auckland last month to repair the cable in Bass Strait, arrived -at Wellington this morning, and leaves tocable to repair three of the Cook Strait cables which are reported to be morrow with 15 miles of submarine damaged. Given good weather she should be back in fourteen days time. She will then proceed, to Auckland, thence to Norfolk Island to carry out further repair work.
