SLOT MACHINES RIFLED

SHOP FORCIBLY ENTERED

(Special to “Northern Advocate.’’) AUCKLAND, Monday.

Last night thieves were busy in the St. Holier’s-Kohlmarama district when two telephone cabinet slot machines, one at Kohimarama, the other at St. Heller’s Bay, were rifled and the contents stolen. The -shop of Mr R. A. J. Nixon, at Mission Bay, was entered and sweets valued at £5 stolen.

Entrance was effected by forcing open the back door of the shop. As well as the sweets, .1/0 in coppers were stolen.

The thieves who -smashed -open the slot machines did not get much for their trouble as the pennies were collected on Thursday.
