TEN YEARS’ OUTLAY. ' PARITY WITH BRITAIN. (Received 11.35 a.m.) WASHINGTON, May 6. Mr Britten, Chairman of the House Naval Committee, announced today that he would introduce a bill for naval war-craft costing a billion dollars, which he said was necessary to bring the American navy on a parity with Britain in 10 years.
He said he had confidential figures showing that new .construction requirements for 10 years called for 73,500 tons of six-inch-gun tons of destroyers, 52,700 tons of submarines .and 69,000 of aircraft-carriers.
