Progress returns of the Parnell byelection will be posted at the “Northern Advocate” office tonight. The poll closes at 7 o’clock and it, is expected that the final result will bo available about 9 o’clock. “We are wasting millions in this infernal grading to povide a one-in-forty level for motor, cars. At the Gisborne Police Court this morning, Ming Lee, aged 55, Who was found in a Chinese laundry on Sunday night smoking opium, was fined £3O for being in possession of opium in a form suitable, for smoking.
