N.Z. WIRELESS EQUIPMENT

A VALUABLE ADDITION.

(Per Press Association.—Copyright.)

WELLINGTON, This Day,

The Hou, J. B. Donald, PostmasterGneral, states that the Department recently ordered from 'Sydney a modern short-wave transmitting and receiving plant for erection at the L.L.W. Morse station, Wellington. The new plan will render obsolete the spark stations at Awanui and lAwama, and will affect a considerable annual saving. The transmitter will be used primarily for communicating with Samoa, Raratonga, Tonga, etc,, but will afford emergency communication with Australia, and with shout-wave stations in the United Kingdom during certain hours qt the day.
