.Miss Katie I‘ickmere lias been, appointed as assistant in the Whangarei Public. Library and will probably commence duties on Monday next.
Mr A. B. Charters, Principal of the Whangarei High School, who was ordered away for a change, has been seriously ill in Wellington and has had to undergo special treatment for acute bronchi! is, just missing pneumonia, lie i* nut ycl allowed out, but is progressing satisfactorily. He will probably not be bin-k in time for the reopening of school.
