PROFITABLE PROPHECY. DUNEDIN, This Day. A letter from the Rev O. Michelson to tho Foreign Missions Committee of the Presbyterian Church reports that during his absence front Tongoa Island in the New Hebrides group, one of the natives had laid claim to prophetical powers, and had predicted tho imminent destruction of the island, the calamity to bo averted only by “repentance in hard cash.” In this way he had .secured a substantial sum from credulous islanders. —Press Assn.
