Mr W. 8. Austin, D 5.0., inspector of technical subjects, is at present at a visit to the High School and tho other schools in the district. Adjutant and Mrs Podmorc, of the Salvation Army, left by today’s cxI press for Auckland to attend tho OffiI eers’ Council conducted by Commissioner and Mrs Hoggard. Mr and Mrs E. Luka returned to j Whangarci by today’s express from a, holiday visit to Auckland and Hclcnsvillo, Mr H. 8. (Doe) Mackenzie, who has been seriously' ill with pneumonia, to which he went down five weeks ago, has reached a stage of convalescence which enables him to bo about again. E. Meyer, who played Rugby football for Hikurangi last season, and who turned out for Auckland Training Collodge this year, has been selected to play as first five-eighths for Auckland against Thames on Saturday. Friends of Mr W. 11. Timewell, who has not been well for some time, will be pleased to hear that an operation for appendicitis was successfully performed at Hamilton yesterday. Mr Timewell is reported to be doing well.
