THE PRICE OF BREAD. GOVERNMENT PRECAUTIONS. (Received 1.5 p.m.) PARIS, February 6. Speculation in the -wheat market lias, cruised the French Government to take action to prevent the price of bread increasing. It has been decided to introduce a bill making it obligatory on. dealers to disclose their stocks, with the objeet of taking a census of available supplies. If these are insufficient for national, needs the Government intends to purchase largely abroad, for which special credits will be asked.'—Sun.
