CALLOUS MOTORIST.

INJURED MAN FORSAKEN. SKULL AND ARM FRACTURED. WELLINGTON, This Day. Another serious motor accident occurred on the Hutt Road on Saturday evening. This time the victim was Henry Gerard, of Wellington. After being run over he was left on the road and was found later seriously injured and unconscious. His skull was fractured and his right arm broken. It is understood that Gerard was walking along the road when he was overtaken and knocked down by an unknown motorist. He was discovered huddled in the roadway by a man coming in from Petone. There were a number of cars about at this time and people who were attending the injured man recall that one was seen manoeuvring suspiciously and then left the scene. Gerard formerly resided in Christchurch, from where he came to a position in Watkins , printing establishment. —Press Assn.
