TENTH UNVEILED,
AT SAILORS''INSTITUTE. WELLINGTON, This Day. In the presence of a large body of seafaring people at the Sailors' Friend Institute lust evening Mr Massey unveiled a tablet erected in memory of [ the officers and men of the Ripple lost on August 6. This makes the tenth such memorial, ! the others being for Ohau, Hinemoa, Penguin, Ventnor, Lizzie Bell, Woolsiliara, Elingamite, Moan.t and Omakn. In the course of his remarks the Prime Minister said it was the duty of the Government to do all possible to make ships that go out from our ports safe for those who sail in them. While it could not be said with certainty that wireless would have saved the Ripple's men they knew it had been valuable in many other cases, citing the Helen B. Sterling as one of the most notable. —Press Assn.
