POWER BOARD LOAN.
TRANSFER COST CONSIDERED. (Special to "Northern Advocate.") AUCKLAND, This Day. The question of the transfer to New Zealand of the whole or part of the Auckland Electric Power Board's £250,000 loan money was raised at a meeting of the Board yesterday. A communication from the Bank of New Zealand stated that the rate of transfer was 2 per cent, by mail and per cent, by cable. i The chairman, Mr W. J. Holdsworth, j ! remarked that he did not feel like | transferring anything under those con- j j ditions. The exchange' was against | them. The money would either have [ to be renewed in London or brought lo I New Zealand. [ Mr S. J. Harbutt mentioned the posI sibility of bringing out half the | amount and taking the risk. The matter was left in the hands of the chairman.
