MODERN RESIDENCE

CHRISTCHURCH, This Day.

Mr H. M. Reeves' large two-storey-ed residence at Horoata was burned on Saturday. Mr Reeves and his wife were at the Hunt Club races and returned to find the chimneys all that was left of their well appointed home. The servants were away also and when the fire was noticed toy the spectators at a football match nearby the flames had a good hold. The insurance on the building and furaljtttre is £3000.—Press Assn.
