PROSPECTIVE REDUCTION

The Hon. W. D. Stewart, Minister of Customs, states that in the event of a reduction of tobacco duties being agreed to by the House it will not operate without, say, thtfee months' notic<jl. This is to enable ((present stocks to be cleared off and allow the alteration to be made with as little inconvienence as possible.—Press Assn.
