Having witnessed a projection of *' Without Benefit, of Clergy," Paul Brunet, president of Pathe, issued an •order which sets a precedent containing much encouragement for authors who adopt the screen medium. In accordance, with that order all prints of the Kipling picture will carry the credit line: "Supervised for Eudyard Kipling by Eandolph Lewis.", So far as is known, this is the first time anybody has supervised for Eudyard Kipling but Kipling himself. "Production supervised by the author," is a not unfamiliar credit, but for an author to supervise by proxy, * with recognition given to both, is something new which emphasised the current tendency to enlarge the screen author's authority during the process of. production.
