GENERAL AND PERSONAL. The Lady Eva arrived on Monday with a barge in tow for Mr Blagrove. She left again on Tuesday with a large raft of logs, consigned to Foster's mill. I The Harbour Board launch was here on Sundny with Mr Fraser, harbbour engineer, and Mr J. Ferguson. They left again in the evening. Mr Shoebridge is getting a new engine put into his launch. The weather is fine, though showery. "On Saturday night it blew a gale of rwin'd for some hours, accompanied wjth heavy rain. Sunday was a beautiful day, but on Monday it rained the whole day. Tuesday and Wednesday j was remarkably fine. The local football team played a watch with Kiripaka on Saturday. The game was fast and Kiripaka was beaten by 11 to 3. One of the visiting ieam, Dickenson, a returned soldier, was injured during the game. He was wounded in the war, and the injury he received was somewhere near the wound. One of the local players took him in a boat to Kiripaka, and now he is in the hospital. We hope it is not serious and that he will soon be about again. A wedding is announced to take place in the Public Hall next Wednesday. ! Mr H. Clements returned home on Saturday from Whangarei. ' Mr H. McKenzie came over on Tuesday to try his luck with the phea-' sants.
