ONERAHI TOWN BOARD.
MONTHLY MEETING. The regular monthly meeting of the Onerahi Town Board Commissioners was held on Monday. Present: Messrs E N. Ormiston (chairman), .). Cochran, H. A. Going, A. IL Mason and W. Pullman. , . Steven's Point.--The chairman reported that himself and Comr. Mason had met Mr Steedman, Crown Lands Ranger, regarding the handing over of Steven's Point to Ihe Town Board for recreation purposes. After discussion it was resolved, on the motion of the ouaimmi, seconded by Comr. Going, that, n deputation meet, Mr Q-reville, Crown I/mds Commissioner, on the matter on tho occasion of his visit to Whangarei, and that Comr. Mason write to the commissioner on the subRoad.—Proposed by Comr. Going, seconded by Comr. Mason, that tho board approach landowners fronting the above road with regard to acquiring land for road purposes The owners of such land being N Z Portland Cement, Co., G. Aked, Mrs G S. Mason and Mrs C. Kirkwood. Marine Shells lor Footpath.—On tho motion of Comr. Mason, seconded by Comr. Pullman, ;t was resolved that provided the shells from Long Bank are inspected and approved, that the board acquire one or two barge loads H ot exceeding sixty yards from Messrs Mason Bros, and to be delivered at Onerahi where pointed out. and that the town supervisors be notified as soon as possible of the delivery of thq,sbells. It was resolved on the motion ot Comr. Pullman that the board cany out the necessary works of laying shells on all footpaths now formed. Town Supervisors.—lt was resolved that Comrs. Cochran and Pullman be pppointcd town supervisor,* for the current montth. _ Accounts.—On the motion of Comr. Mason it was resolved that accounts mounting to £39 Is 6d bo passed for payment. Bathing Sheds.—The committee reported that the two bathing sheds were completed and were now being used by the public who appreciated such convenience, ji. . , Railway Timetable—The Distnct Manager" Railways wrote acknowledging receipt of the board's letter asking for an improved railway timetable to Onerahi, and stated that the matter would be looked into. Ponndkeeper.—Mr Hansen wrote tendering his resignation as ponndkeeper from 31st January, 1920. It was resolved to accept, the same and that Mr E. Hansen be appointed to fill the vacancy.
