WHAREORA ROAD BOARD.
FEBRUARY MEETING. An ordinary meeting of members ot theWhareora Road Board was held on Saturday. Present: Messrs J. R. Reyburn (chairman), A. E. Clarke, J. D. Horn and Alex. Clarke. Repairs to Black Bridge.—Tho county ■ clerk wrote stating that the member tor the riding and tho county engineer were appointed to confer with the board on the question of repairs to the Black engineer also wrote stating that they would be pleased to visit the bridge with nembers and go into the question of repairs on the ground. On the motion of the chairman, seconded by Mr A. E. Clarke, it was resolved that, the clerk arrange a meeting between the Whareora members of the board and the county engineer to consider what repairs are necessary to the bridge referred to. Electrical Extension.—lt was agreed that the board meet the borough electrical committee at an early date to consider the question of extending the borough electrical mains across the river to supply householders with light and P °Repairs to Bridge on Abbey Road — On the motion of Mr Alex. Clarke, seconded by Mr A. E. Clarke, it, was resolved that the matter of bridge on the Abbey road bo left in the hands of the chairman to deal with Paraiiui Domain Reserve—Mr Alex. Clarke reported that an arrangement had been made between the committee appointed to deal with the matter of Mr Morton's application, whereby he agrees to lease that portion of the Faranui Domain lying between his boundary and the Parahaki creek for a period of ten years at £2 per annum, such lease not to be transferable. On the motion of the chairman it was resolved to confirm the arrangements made between tho committee and Mr M S™ts.-A claim was .received from the County Council for pipes supDlied It was pointed out that the whole of the items in the account were not ordered by the board, and only a portion was received to provide a culvert on the boundary between the road Stricf and the county The board carrying out the construction of the eulver7and the county «*\f&***W£ free of charge as their share of the cost. Re the Valuation Department's ac-count.-It was resolved, on thepotion of Mr Horn, seconded by Mr A. *.. Clarke, that the claim for revising rolls be referred back to the Department for explanation, as the roll had not been inspected and only three items were advised from Wellington to be added to the roll and that the sum of £2 10s foi such service was excessive. 4,\ motion of Mr A. E. Clarke, secomded by Mr Alex. Clarke, it was resolved that he balance of the accounts bo passed or payment, that the items pertaining to bridge account on Sand's road be aloca cd g as follow,:-Half the cost to bo borne by the County Council as a ranged with the riding member and balance to be paid by the board.
