LONDON, Oct. 3. The wheat market is quiet. Australian is steadily held, 36/6 being asked for South Australian off coast cargoes and 35/10 offered. Flour is quiet. Australian patent, ex store, £27 10/. Oats are slow. La Plata, JanuaryFebruary, 15/. Short loans, are charged 3% per cent, the rate for three months bills being 4% per cent. The Paris rate • of discount is 3% per cent and the Berlin rate 4% per cent. The Bradford wool market is unchanged. There is a rather stronger tone but business is very limited. The following prices have been realised for the fleece portions of the clips named: —"Ruanui," top 12% d, average ll%d; "Glendonald" 12% d, average 11 %d; "Hauiti" 13% d, average 12% d; "denary" 13d, average 3.1 %d. Butter is very firm. Danish is unchanged. Choicest new Queensland is selling at 116/ to 118/, unsalted 120/.
