BARRIER BLOWN AWAY.
SEA ENTERS PANAMA CANAL. NEW YORK, Sept. 1. The last barrier at the Pacific end of the Panama Canal was to-day blown away by 541 shots. The water flowed .in quickly. Dredges are working clearing the channel. Dredges start clearing the last of the Atlantic end on September 2, and when finished the canal will be navigable for ships.
