HUNDREDS OF GIRLS IDLE.
LONDON, Sept. 1
Jacob and Son, biscuit manufacturers, Dublin, have forbidden their employees to wear trade union badges during work hours. They state that they do not object to them belonging to an ordinary trade union, but censure the tyranny of the Transporters Union in interfering with work. Some of the employees belonging to the union are absent, and six hundred girls are therefore locked out.
There are indications that thousands of other workers will be idle to-morrow.
