METHODIST SYNOD RESOLUTIONS

AUCKLAND, Dec. 9

The Methodist District Synod passed a resolution of uncompromising hostility to the legalised sale of intoxicating drink; demanding for the people the right to settle the question by bare majority; rejoicing at the improvements secured in the new Licensing Act, particularly in regard to the enforcement of the law in no-license areas, raising the age at which youths may be supplied, and the provision of a separate vote on national prohibition.
