WAIPU.

Me J. M. McKay has again been returned as the Waipu representative of the Waipu riding. The election was hotly contested, and resulted in a dead heat, ..the "Returning Qfftcer giving hie casting vote in favour of the late representative. Mr McKay occupies a very critical position, as his friends and foes are so equally balanced. Mr McKay, however, is known to be a very conscientious and zealous councillor, and there can be little doubt that the Returning Officer did wisely in giving his casriug vote as he did. The Waipu electors will have little cause to regret their choice. Unfortunately there is great probability of little money being available for division, and consequently no road making can be effected. The money available will no more than keep 7 tue present roads in repair, if it does that. .
