MANGAPAI.

(From our own Correspondent.) The electors in Mangapai are jubilant at the result of the election. It jxas .fortunate that the seat was contested by two candidates who so distinctly declared j their opinions and the coarse they would take if elected, and'the decision so plainly given by the large majority of the county has so unmistakeably condafimed the j actions of the late Government. The' electors having a prospect of a better admin-straiaon, may now settle down to making sonle improvements with renewed hopes of reaping a larger share of the profits of their labour, and that nearly the whole will not be absorbed by e_-_C_esßive taxation for interest of debt, and upholding theexpensiveofficialism and wasteful expenditure, hitherto so shamefully carried on by the lafe Government, i Our candid opinion in reference to the! rejected candidate (for the seat* second time), is that his reckloss consuofein this j contest, will for ever close^the'ddoir^of^ne ! J .'lt is intended attortly to resume • monthly services in the Wesleyan Church, Mangapai, of which/ due notice will be given. The building* has not been used for a considerable length of time, and it is hoped that the 7 services will be ' wellattended. /
