A business meeting of tho branch waa held on Monday evening, the -Ith inst., with Mr. Ward in tbo chair. Mr. Rae wrote resigning tho secretaryship owing to pressure of private engagements,- but oifering bis services to tue branch at a later period. The resignation was received with regret, and a hearty vote of tbanks accorded Mr. Rae for his past work for the movement, .Mr Stickney was elected secretary. Mr. Waid, president ot the branch, was .elected delegate to the- W.E.A., vice Mr. Rao, resigned. Tho members of tbo branch decided to contribute towards tbe literature fund appeal sent out by tho National Secretary, and Mrs. Snow has been authorised to receive, subscriptions.. A preliminary meeting has been called on Saturday, the lGth inst., at the "Worker' office, for tho 'purpose ot forming a district council for Wellington Province. On the evening of Labour Day, the 2oth inst., a "social" will be held at the Espwrafrte Hall, Lambton Quay,
