We also protest against the exclusion of domestic servants from the Compensation for Aocident Act, and call upon the Government to so amend the bill that provision will be made for domestic workers. We further protest against the provision embodied in the Mining Act of last, session which provides for a Gold Miners Relief Fund, which we contend is of no benefit to the workers in its present form." ''That -a protest he sent on to the Minister of Mines immediately, re the rapid rising of water in No. 1 mine, State Collieries. There is a move on foot to start a co-operative tailoring- establishment in the Grey district. There is already upwards of £100 share capital promised by tho different Co-operative Societies, and Unions. It is proposed to have the headquarters in Greymouth, and to turn tho suits out at cost rmce, or as near it as possible, at any rate there will bo no dividends. Professor W. G. Mdls met with an enthusiastic reception at Eunanga on the occasion of his reoent visit to the Coast. If ever he returns, as it is hoped he will, he can rest assured of a bumper house. At the conclusion of Ids meeting over 60 persons handed in their names as subscribers for his book -The Struggle for Existence."
