Returned Soldier Killed In Car Accident
Through, being struek by a car at the north side of the Mangaatua bridge ou the Masterton Road near Woodville last evening at about 6.15 o’clock, John Dunford, of Masterton Road, Woodvillo, aged 32, single, was killed. He was a returned soldier farmer, settled under the rehabilitation scheme. His parents reside in Palmerston North. An inquest will be opened this morning at 10 o’clock for purposes of identification.
PALMERSTON NORTH RESIDENT VICTIM OF CAR SMASH
(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, June 26. The soldier killed last night when the car ho was driving collided with a stationary lorry has been identified as Reginald James Shearer, aged 21, of Palmerston North. The car was the property of the United States Ordnance.
