Borovansky Ballet of 40

This morning at Collinbon and Cunninghame’s, the box plans will be opened at nine o ’clock for the final appearance here of the famous Borovansky Ballet, which is to be presented at the Opera House oh Monday night next by J. C. Williamson Theatres Ltd., and judging by the large number of inquiries which have been made in regard to the booking arrangements, there is going to be a good demand for seats. Over the period between the two great wars, the cult of the Russian Ballet has made enormous strides all over the world. Not only has this form of cultural art in plastic form been sustained in its native Moscow all through the travail of war, but also in England and America, the ballet is now among the continuous attractions, instead of appearing i n five-year periods. Further than that, English and American composers are writing ballet music with success, while choreographers, native to those countries, are designing dance forms. The programme of ballets selected for the final appearance of the company here, “Giselle”, “Vltava” and “Le Spectre de la Rose” which is a splendid one, and it will not be surprising if the Opera House is taxed to its capacity on Monday night next. Interest in the appearance of the Borovansky' company' has been increased by the addition to it of the talented young Rumanian ballerina, Tajnara

Tckinarova, who was a principal member of the Covent Garden Russian ballet which visited New Zealand a few years ago.
