W.I. Garden Circle

Nearly 40 members of the Woodville Women’s Institute Garden Circle met on Tuesday 14, for the September meeting. Mrs. Nicholson, vice-president, was in the chair. Mrs. Woods was welcomed as a uew member. Mrs. Bassett won the monthly competition. The decorative competition—a shoulder spray, to be made front flowers handed out in a paper bag—“mystery flowers” was won by Mrs. Scliaw. Mrs. Philips was second and Mrs. Houlbrooke third. Mrs. W. Galbraith was the judge. Mesdames Warnock and Vickers exhibited the best blooms, both gaining 10 points. Mr. S. Turnbull was the speaker for the day and his subject was “Bulbs, and in par ticulav, Narcissi.” Afternoon tea was served by Mesdames Giles, Nicholls and Nicholson.
