Son of Late T. E. Taylor To Contest Lyttelton

(Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, July 8. Air. E. B. E. Taylor, who contested the Westland scat in 1938, has been chosen as the official National Party candidate for the Lyttelton seat. Mr. Taylor, who is a barrister and solicitor, is a son of the late T. E. Taylor, member of Parliament for Christchurch North for many years and also mayor of Christchurch. In the 1938 election Air. Taylor polled 3902 votes against 7631 cast for the sitting member, Hon. J. O’Brien, now Minister of Transport. Including the sitting member, Mr. McCombs, there are now four candidates for the Lyttelton seat. The People’s Alovement is sponsoring an Independent iu Mr. H. Bliss, the Real Democracy Alovement’s candidate ia Mr. L. A. Jarden, while the Domocratic | Soldier Labour Party is also calling for nominations.
