Three Japanese Ships Sunk in Burma

(British. Official Wireless) RUGBY, Mar. 8. A United States communique issued at New Delhi states: Three Japanese merchant ships in the Rangoon River have been sunk or damaged by American bombers. A 5000-ton cargo vessel has been sunk and is resting on the river bed. On Saturday two other enemy ships In the river received hits. The first 400 feet long, received two direct hits and a heavy cloud of smoke rose. The second, of 300 feet received near hits. On the same day the docks nt Moulmein received a low-level attack and lafge fires were started at several points. A lighthouse, radio station, steamer, and airfield were all bombed. Tho Myitinge bridge was also bombed, and its approaches were destroyed. All the aircraft returned.
