The outbreaks are associated with the Gestapo’s rounding up of deportees. A Danish official in London stated that hundreds of Danish boys between 14 and 17 have formed “Churchill Clubs” which are actively sabotaging the German army’s equipment. The existence of the Churchill Clubs was discovered when three boys were arrested at Aalborg following the theft of German rifles and bayonets. The boys had accumulated an arsenal of light weapons, ammunition and grenades. The leaders were sentenced to 2$ years, but by an extraordinary conspiracy they left the prison at night and carried on the sabotage. This was eventually discovered but the Gestapo has been powerless to stamp out the clubs.
