Swimming Carnival
The Manawatu Amateur Swimming Centre held a wartime championship carnival in the Municipal Baths on Thursday night, and the event, attracted good patronage. The officials were: Referee, Mr. S. Hawick; starter, Mr. O. C. Sporle; judges, Messrs. H. Pringle, W. Schwabe and Hogben; diving judges, Messrs. Sporle and Hawick; timekeepers, Messrs K. Hawkins, Robinson and W. Nichols; clock starter, Mr. H. Redshaw; compiling stewards, Misses M. Cousins and J. Barkwith; carnival secretary, Mr. L. H. Pringle; announcer, Mr. Nichols.
