Feilding Miniature Rifle Club
The sixth annual report of the Feilding Miniature Rifle Club states that 30 members had joined the Forces, while 29 active members helped to make the past year successful despite many difficulties. Owing to petrol restrictions the club travelled only once to shoot a match for the McKeivie Cup. All other inter-club shoots were conducted by post and in these the club enjoyed a fair measure of success. The club championship for the Cobbe Cup was won by I. Aitken, while J. Freebairn won the junior championship. Trophies donated by members were well distributed and the thanks of the club are due to the donors. As the military authorities requisitioned the club’s rifles the club has resolved to go into recess for the duration. It has been decided to loan the club’s telescopes to the Army. The thanks of the club are due to all who contributed in any way to the encouragement of miniature rifle shooting in Feilding.
