Makino
(From Our Own Correspondent.) An enjoyable evening was recently spent when several of Mr. and Mrs. Cumings’ oldest Makino and Feilding friends gathered to honour them on the eve of their departure for Wellington. The evening was spent in dancing interspersed with novelty items, •games and competitions. A lucky parcel was l eventually handed to Mrs. Cumings while Mr. R. Huddleston was the winner of a. competition. Mr. W. E. Hills called on Mr. and Mrs. Cumings to accept, alorig with the best wishes of all present, a |Seagrass chair aud a pair of kid gloves. A duet by Messrs. Hills and Cumingv wns well received. Mr. and Mrs. Graham Clarke were week-end visitors to Wellington.
Private Bert Thurston is spending a fortnight’s leave with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. Thurston. A farewell even-
