Halcombe
(From Our Own Correspondent.) During the month of November the Halcombe Women’s Patriotic Committee delivered to Zone E headquarters (Feilding) the following woollen goods: One pair socks, eight balaclavas, six scarves, one pair mittens, three pairs gloves, one pair seaboot stockings, two navy pullovers. A parcel containing 34 articels of clothing was delivered to the Lady Galway Guild. In conjunction with the Stanway Sewing Guild, 35 parcels were packed and posted to local members of the armed forces overseas. Arrangements for the packing of 10 unaddressed parcels to be to Feilding before Christmas were completed. The next meeting of the committee will be held on January 15, 1942. Misses N. and J. Thomas, who have been spending a holiday with Mr. and Mrs. N. E. Ashworth have returned to Hawera. Miss M. McNae, Wanganui, has been visiting her parents, Mr. aud Mrs. A. McNae. Mrs. L. Dixon, Wellington, has been the guest of Mrs. J. Curtis, Mt. Biggs. Private R. Grantham and J. Williams have returned after completing their Territorial training at Waiouro. Rev. K. A. Robinson is visiting Ashburton. Signalman S. Anderson is spending leave in Halcombe.
