Longest Appeal Court Case on Record
Per Prone Association. WELLINGTON, NovC 5. The hearing of far and away the longest case on record in the Court of Appeal in New Zealand was concluded to-day. It was the appeal of Hall and others versus the Guardian Trust and others. The hearing commenced on September 18 and occupied 32J days. Mr. W. D. Lysnar, in presenting appellant’s case, occupied 15 days, Mr. A. IL Johnstone, K.C., for the Guardian Trust, addressed the Court for 7$ days, and for the other respondents Mr. D. R. Hoggard, on behalf of the Bank of New Zealand, occupied three days, and Mr. H. F. O’Leary, K.C., and Mr. H. E. Evans on behalf of the Union Bank occupied three days. Mr. Lysnar, in reply, addressed the Court for four] days following which decision was reserved.
