Money for Troops Overseas
WELLIGTON, Nov. 6. Another reminder is given by the Minister of Defence, the Hon. F. Jones, of the desirability of relatives and friends who wish to send money to members of the New Zealand fighting forces overseas for Christmas of forwarding their bank receipts to the respective departments, Army, Navy, and Air, not later than Monday, November 24. If this course is followed it will ensure, as far as is possible to do so, the money being available to the men before Christmas. The amount which may be sent in any one year is restricted to £3O, and if that sum has already been sent in the current remittance year, it will be useless to apply for permission to send additional funds, said the Minister. There will be no relaxation of this rule, and if additional money is sent in it will be returned to the sender.
