JSkinner, was the medium by wiiich the sum of £l6 10s was raised for the local Red Cross .Sewing Guild, which organisation was in need of funds for tlie purchase of material. Outstanding Bates At yesterday’s meeting of the County Council the clerk (Mr. J. M. Graham) reported that the outstanding rates lor tho current year amounted to £l2 17s 4d, and that tho outstanding rates over the past nine years (mainly Maori rates) totalled £147 7s sd. It was commented that this was a very small percentage of arrears compared with the total amount of rates levied.
