Mr. J. Milroy, of Ormond Street, is an inmate of the Dannevirke Hospital. Mr. Milroy is a well-known identity of this district and celebrated his 95th birthday last February. Mr. and Mrs. P. Spackman, of Rua Roa, are spending a few days in Woodville prior to the former taking up a position on transfer with the Public Works Department, Mataroa. Mr. A. Sinclair, son of Mr. and Mrs. T. A. B. Sinclair, Masterton Road, sat for his musical examination at Wellington this week by special permission; yesterday morning he left Woodville for the Ohakea Air Force training centre. Advice has been received by Mr. A. W Soundy, secretary of the Dannevirko 'High School Board of Governors, that the Mayor (Mr. E. Gibbard) has been reappointed one of the two Government nominees, for a further also that Mr. A. England; of Te Rehunga, has been appointed the other Government nominee, vice Mr. Thos. Bain.
