Another hard frost, followed by a fine day, was experienced in Feilding over Wednesday night and yesterday.j Members of the Feilding A. and P. Association are reminded that the annual general meeting will take place this evening. At the parade of the E.P.S. company in Feilding to-morrow afternoon a further lecture on first-aid, as well as instruction, will be given by Mr. C. Hausmann. A full muster of members of D company is called. Feilding and Old Boys football team to play Old Boys at Johnson Park on Saturday at 2.30 p.m.:—Anderson, Eade, Gay, Randolf, Garlick, Pyo, Sullivan, Clemiuson, Newman, Kitchen, Craine, Haywood, Dewo, Dernier, Jarrett, Blunden, Fowler, Shannon, Pollard, Rutherford, Oliver. Sir Harry Battcrbce, United Kingdom High Commissioner in New Zealand, is to visit Feilding on Tuesday next and will be accorded a civic reception at the Borough Council chambers by the Mayor (Mr. T. L. Seddon). Afterwards Sir Harry will be the guestspeaker at the Civic Lunch Club’s gathering and iu the afternoon will visit the High School. The civic reception will take placo at 11 a.m. At the special meeting of the Feilding Borough Couucil on Saturday morning the mayor and councillors will complete the statutory form of declaration, following which the several committees will be set up. It is likely that there will be a new appointment for the x>osition of deputy-mayor, as it is understood that Cr. A. C, McCorkindale, who has long filled this important role, wishes to be relieved of the position. In connection with the call for volunteers for the blood transfusion service, arrangements have been completed whereby the Palmerston North Hospital Board will arrange for a medical officer to visit Feilding when sufficient local volunteers are offering to test them as to their suitability for the service. Volunteers should communicate with either Mr. O. H. Tate (town clerk) or Mr. K. M. Little (secretary of the Patriotic Society).
