Obituary
MRS. MARY ELIZA COOK The death occurred at her residence, Oxford Road, on Alay 3 of Mrs. Mary Eliza Cook, in her bßth. year, after a lengthy illness borne with Christian fortitude. Airs. Cook, who was a devoted wife and mother, was loved by all, and her passing will be deeply regretted. Born at Kingsomborne, Southampton, England, Airs. Cook came to New Zealand in the year 1891, the day before the first express train ran from Wellington to Napier. Shortly after her arrival she was married to Air. Alfred Cook at Ashley Clinton, Hawke’s Bay, where, except for a period spent at Silverstream, they resided until their removal to Woodville in 1916. In addition to her husband, Airs. Cook leaves to mourn their loss four sons and four daughters, as well as 31 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The daughters are: Mrs. C. Stock (Woodville), Airs. R. Alii Is (Waipawa), Mrs. F. Alora (WhangamOmona), Airs. E. Ford (Fordell). The sons are: Alessrs. W. A. Cook (Woodville), A. E. Cook (Konini), A. J. C.ook and V. H. A. Cook (Whakarara). One daughter, Lilian, deceased her mother in 1936.
