Chess Activities

The recent meeting was the most interesting so far this season for members of the Woodville Chess Club. The club had a visitor, Mr. N. Shulgorsky, to whom was allotted as an opponent Mr. Morris, one of the leading local players. The game afforded a fine demonstration of play, especially on the part of the visitor, whose skill is amazing. In the mombers’ games Harding beat Hartridge, Sinclair lost to Worboys, Scliaw won from the newcomers, 11. and I. McLean, who made a good showing against a versatile opponent. Further attendance by Mr. Shulgorski is certain to give a great stimulus to the pastime in Woodville.
