Feilding Borough Flections

LITTLE PUBLIC INTEREST MANIFEST

So far the public of Feilding have manifested very little interest in the approaching municipal elections. The district electors’ list, which is the rolJ for the purpose of voting for councillors, closes on Saturday, while nominations for the council and other offices close ou Monday next. Citizens are still apt to confuse local elections with the general elections and with talk about the possible postponement of tho general elections, some are inclined to overlook the local 'body elections. 8o far as is known it is likely that nearly all of the retiring councillors will offer themselves for a further term. As already announced, Cr. Desmond will be contesting the seat on the Maua-watu-Oroua Power Board, and it is understood that Mr. T. Ffl Fitz Gerald will be offering his services for the Borough Council. Cr. V. E. bmith, who has seen particularly long service on the council, may not be offering his services for a further term. He has also been Feilding’s representative ou the Hospital Board for many years.
