Home Guard Parade in Feilding
THREE BATTALIONS TO TAKE PART MAY PARADE THROUGH TOWN The first general parade of guardsmen drawn from throughout the Feilding district will take place in Feilding on Saturday afternoou at the racecourse property. The parade has been called at an early hour in order to cause the least possible interference with farming activities and as the dairying season has about ended it is anticipated that the country units will be weik represented. As some organisation will require to be finalised before the movements to be carried out are proceeded with it is not expected that the review will commence before about 1.30 p.m. The parade, however, is called for 1 p.m., and it is hoped that guardsmen will make every endeavour to attend this parade, which has for its object instruction in mass formation. On completing the movements at the racecourse and. if time permits the parade of three battalions will then march through the town led by the Feilding Municipal Band, which is to provide the martial music for the review. Every guardsmen are expected to take part in this parade.
