Chrysanthemum Club Show

MAGNIFICENT BLOOMS GROWN j A remarkably fine display of chrysanthemums was staged yesterday by the Palmerston North Chrysanthemum Club which to-day will compete in its annual competition'with the Wanganui Chrysanthemum Club at Wanganui. Each year members of these two clubs vie with each other to see who can grow the best blooms and it was only last year that the Palmerston North Club managed to win the cup which had been held by Wanganui for several years. However, judging by yesterday’s fino display, Wanganui will have to produce .something out of the ordinary to regain the laurels. The jugdes yesterday were Mr. and Mrs. Morbv, of Wanganui, who praised the exhibition, a bright feature of which was the well-grown blooms shown by novices. Results were ns follows: — Single Chrysanthemums. Six vars. (disbudded): Mrs. N. Stidolph 1, Mrs. Nathan 2. Three vars. (disbudded): Mrs. Stidolph 1, Mr. J. Hollows 2, Mr. J. Adamson 3. Three j blooms (anemone centre): Mr. Hollows 1, Mrs. Poole 2, Mr. C. Erenstrom 3. Specimen plant in receptacle: Mr. J. G. Radford 1 and 2. Japanese Chrysanthemums. Twelve of anv one variety (Stidolph Shield): Mr. ,T. Adamson 1, Mr. J. ‘Morgan 2. Twelve vars. (Grey Cup ): Mr. Sherman 1, Mr. Radford 2. Six vars.: Mr. ,T. H. * Cooper 1. Mr. W. Weston 2, Mr. J.
